Utopia Laneway Festival

Yesterday I had the pleasure of contributing to the Utopia Lane way Festival.
Fund-raising for Afghan refugees, the festival brought together an abundance of music, art and fashion. Fellows artists & myself were invited to paint/embellish paper & fabric kites.
They were to be auctioned off with proceeds going to Hope AFAR.

Fellow artists crafting their kites
You certainly can't tell from the photo but it was a stinking hot day!

My kite design. Water colour and pencil.

It was my first time trying out these thrifted water colours below. Not the most amazing quality but they seemed to take much better to this cotton than paper. More importantly, how cute is the tin they come in?

In my opinion the most difficult form of drawing is water color painting because you have to control the mixer of color as well as water color on paper, it is awesome work you have shared.

No painter but I really like your pictures ... Color palette, light, heat and especially intimacy, pleasure to discover "our stuff", the life around us ...
